As I started watching this match, I said to myself: "This is Devilman? This is Tommy Carolina? Everyone in the world shits their pants over THESE guys?!"
I couldn't believe what I was watching. The match just dragged on, and on, and I was only 2 minutes into it. Two scrawny little dudes barely doing anything while Sinn and Schalk get their cheap heat. Just a really bland, poorly done comedy match.
But then it hit me. The way it was paced was unreal. The fact that two guys so small are going at it in such a ridiculous manner was so hilarious that there didn't need to be any flat out comedy spots. I realized the entire payoff of the slow start when the first big move happened because it made the move so meaningful. Hey kids, everyone should watch this and I demand it stay pinned for at least a week. These guys prove you can take the fucking house down without stiffing each other out or dropping each other on your heads. When Carolina hit his huge seated spinebuster I was starting to lose it. This has to be one of my favorite backyard matches of all time and I was legit sad when it ended. And in all honesty, it was the highlight of my day.
Russ Myers and Tommy Carolina are on a level that most people here will never reach. They were able to get heat for their match without resorting to anything cheap (outside of Peach Pit's interference) and conveyed such emotion through the match. Brilliant. Just... it blew me away.

Great match to watch live and on tape also the man!
Also wanted to announce that a Hardcore Halloween 6 dvd is being looked upon quite seriously as preliminary outlines are being worked up. My question to you is would you be interested in seeing this dvd? Might be a dumb question being it was like the biggest show ever to be swept under a rug. I just watched the show and I forgot how fucking good it was. So this dvd idea is definitely under advisement.
