About This Footage
The Backyard Wrestling Link presents a significant discovery: a previously lost VHS tape from Garbage Everywhere Wrestling (GEW), dating back to the summer of 1998. This footage represents some of the oldest backyard wrestling material featured on the channel, offering a rare glimpse into a foundational period of the subculture. It was digitized and preserved by Steve Shilson.
The video showcases raw, unfiltered backyard wrestling from an era before widespread digital sharing. Viewers will observe the homemade nature of the events, including the ring, ramps, and the distinct characters developed by the participants. It provides an authentic look at a group of friends creating their own wrestling world, devoid of external production or sponsors. The Backyard Wrestling Link encourages anyone involved with GEW to share their memories in the comments.
